Rules
  1. The competition is open only to producers who are members or groups of members of the Bristol Film and Video Society.
  2. The subject of the film must be a place or ‘thing’ located in the UK and about which the producer feels strongly. Examples might be: “My school”, “My garden shed”, ”My favourite walk”, “The Avon Valley Railway”, “My boat”, and the film should convey why "my place" is special to the producer and why he/she is so enthused by the place.
  3. Entries should be submitted in UK TV standard, in standard or high definition, preferably on Mini-DV or HDV cassette or DVD or Blu-ray disc. Entrants submitting entries on other media may be asked to supply a suitable player.
  4. Entrants may submit one or more entries to the competition.
  5. Entries must be clearly marked with their title and aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9).
  6. The entry shall be handed in to the Competition Secretary or other designated officer of the Society, not later than 15 minutes before the start of the competition.
  7. The entry shall not exceed 5 minutes in duration.
  8. The competition will be judged by the audience on Competition evening. Marks will be awarded from 1 to 10 for overall excellence. (10 being best). Audience members who complete an assessment form must be present for, and allocate marks to, all films shown in the competition. No fractions of marks are permitted.
  9. Competition entrants must advise the Competition Secretary at the time of submission of the entry if they DO NOT wish their film to be included in any selection of BFVS members' films intended to be shown to other clubs.
